Last Monday I rode to Vernal with a group of Woman to Vernal. It was 32 miles. Audrey did a mini marathon(3 miles) at school on the last day. She came in 3rd place of the 5th grade girls. She ran it in 34 minutes 20 seconds. I am very proud of her. Saturday I rode my bike 51 miles, it took me 3 hours 40 minutes. I hope I am ready for my ride on Saturday, right now 104 miles seems impossible. Yesterday we went on a family hike. We hiked for about 2 hours. We stopped and had a picnic. It was fun. The girls enjoyed themselves. I hope we do more of that. Today is the first day of summer vacation for the girls. This year I am going to try something different. I am going to have the girls come in around lunchtime to eat and then we are going to have quiet time. They are going to read for 30 minutes and work on some math. It seems that they forget so much over summer break that I want to try and keep them at least where they are right now. I am also going to try and get some kind of chore list going. I tend to just do everything because it is easier than fighting with them and Ernie has had enough, he said it is time to teach them responsibility. So I'm going to give it a try.
