Christmas

We were able to spend Christmas with Ernie. The girls and I drove to Tulsa so that we could be together as a family. We went to my moms for Christmas Eve and to Ernie's moms for Christmas Day. It has been 5 years since we have spent a Christmas with family. It was nice to see some of my brothers and sisters. One thing I did realize is that I like the traditions Ernie and I have started as a family and that I enjoy not having to worry about splitting up our time between families. It is always nice to spend time with family. But I like being able to do things on our time and pace and not others.
I have been looking at houses since I have been here and none of them have really caught my eye. I really just want Enrie to pick one out and then the girls and I will move down here. We will be heading home on the 2nd of January and hopefully finishing up our appraisals so we can figure out what we are going to do with our house. I will be glad when we are all back together.

Our Thanksgiving

We went on a mini vacation for Thanksgiving. Ernie flew into Vegas and the girls and I met him there. We spent the day there and went to the M&M store and also the Coca-Cola store. The girls had their picture taken with the coke bear. We ate at the Rain forest Cafe, I enjoyed it but I told the girls that that would be the last time we ate there. The atmosphere is neat but the food really wasn't that good. We tried walking down the strip a little but Audrey said she didn't want to do that because she was uncomfortable. So we went back to the car and drove to out hotel. We stayed at the Stratosphere. We spent the evening at Circus-Circus playing games and watching the circus that is there. The hotel was so big. I couldn't believe it.

The next day we headed to the Grand Canyon. We made it there just in time to see the sun set. I was really beautiful. The next day we spent most of the day going to different sites along the south rim. One of my favorite spots was one of the most peaceful. It was a little off the road so it wasn't really busy. We just sat there awhile and just talked with one another. The girls all had their cameras so we were busy taking pictures. We walked the trail of the south rim and ended at the trail that takes you down into the canyon. We walked down for about 10 minutes and then turned around because it was getting dark. Again we were able to take in the beauty of the sunset. The next morning before we left we tried to see the sunrise, but the weather wasn't cooperating.

On our way home we stopped in St. George and Ernie and I were able to go to the temple. It was a really good experience. Ernie said he wants to retire there. We'll see what happens. The girls were able to go into the visitors center and look around. The reflections of Christ was there. Nora was walking around and when she came to the pictures of The Crucifixion she came to me with tears in her eyes. I asked her if she saw the picture of Christ on the cross, she just nodded. It was a really good opportunity for me to talk to her about the Crucifixion and the resurrection. I told her that he did it for us so that we could repent of our sins and return to live with him again. I really hope it made an impression on her. I am grateful for little moments like that.
